After 15 years of bending strings for bands across the region, JT Hubbard decided it was time to do the damn thing and step out front. He’s joined by Steve Carney (bass) and Andrew Holland (drums)—together bringing over 30 years of combined experience—to form JT and the Damn Thing.

Based out of Fort Smith, Arkansas, right on the Oklahoma border, the band is carving a renegade sound that blends red dirt grit with Nashville shine. Refusing to stay boxed into one genre, their music stitches together country, rock, blues, Americana, and radio-ready modern country, delivering punchy riffs, southern twang, and polished hooks built for the big stage.

Their influences stretch wide—Waylon Jennings, Stevie Ray Vaughan, John Prine, and Bob Dylan, alongside modern heavy-hitters like Cross Canadian Ragweed, Reckless Kelly, Whiskey Myers, Koe Wetzel, Jon Pardi, Dierks Bentley, and Keith Urban. With roots in Nashville’s songwriting and studio scene, their sound balances rowdy energy with heartfelt, radio-friendly storytelling.

Though newly formed, the band plays with seasoned confidence. Members have performed at Cain’s Ballroom, The Vanguard, Cheatham Street Warehouse, and the Steamboat Music Festival, bringing a stage presence sharpened by years on the road.

Looking ahead, JT and the Damn Thing are booking shows across the tri-state area and preparing to record their debut album—aiming for a sound as comfortable on a Texas dancehall stage as it is on today’s country radio.
